EFT: Emotional Freedom Tapping

What is EFT?
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), also known as tapping or psychological acupressure, is a mind-body technique that involves tapping certain points on the body with your fingertips to help manage emotions and relieve physical pain. The tapping is similar to acupuncture and is believed to create an energy balance and calm the amygdala, the part of the brain that controls the stress response.
EFT involves tapping on these certain acupressure points of the body while simultaneously verbalizing statements of release and affirmation. At each session, the client will be asked to identify what he/she would like to release.
Who is EFT for?
Mental health: Anxiety, depression, phobias, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anger, and stress
Physical pain: Discomfort, nausea, and pain
Insomnia: Sleep disturbances
Weight loss: One study found that dieters who practiced EFT tapping lost an average of 1 pound per week while following a six-week online course
